Once again the support of our local business community sponsors and the wider local community has been forthcoming, for this we thank you. Our hard working Committee, Stewards and all Volunteers, including Gate Keepers should be congratulated and thanked for their contribution to enable our great show to be staged each year.

On Saturday May 2nd, a High Tea will be held to celebrate the judging of Miss Showgirl, Rural Ambassador and Junior Show Ambassador, which is a new inclusion this year. WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY ACT: Any exhibitor intending to bring electrical equipment to the Showgrounds will be required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with earth leakage circuit breakers and that all electrical leads, tools and appliances have been inspected and tagged by a licensed electrical contractor. This is essential for the safety of all exhibitors and the general public and a requirement of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2002, Part 5, Division 5. This Act imposes very severe penalties in the event of non-compliance with its provisions. Any exhibitor who does not comply will not be allowed to exhibit at the Biggenden Showgrounds. Exhibitors should check all electrical equipment and leads before coming to the Showgrounds to avoid the occurrence of any difficulties.

RULES: The Biggenden Agricultural & Pastoral Society Inc conducts all competitions under the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc rules for the conduct of Agricultural Show Competitions. To view these rules please view the QCAS website: www.qcas.net.au or collect a copy from the Secretary’s Office.

Any exhibit that is marked for sale attracts a 15% commission payable to the Biggenden Show Society.

PAVILION ENTRIES: ALL exhibits are to remain on display until 3.00 p.m. SUNDAY 17th May, 2015 when items and prize money may be collected. Under NO circumstances will items be released for collection prior to this time. All exhibits not collected by 5.00pm Sunday 17th May 2015, will be disposed of, unless prior arrangements are made with the Secretary. Check the introduction to each specific section for times when the Secretary will be available for accepting entries and the closing time for entries in each individual section. All Stewards to remain with their Sections during judging times and all other persons are asked to vacate the area. Hall entry fees, unless specified, are 80c per entry and must accompany the entry form.

(Entry Forms may be delivered, emailed or faxed to the office). All exhibits must be in their allotted position by 5.00 p.m. Friday, 15 May, 2015 and tags must accompany all exhibits.

GST ON ENTRIES: All entries are inclusive of GST. If you need to claim inputs or not have “withholding tax” applied, you must supply the Treasurer with your ABN number on an appropriate form available from the Secretary’s Office.

PRIZE MONEY: Prize Money may be collected from the Secretary’s Office after 3.00 pm on Sunday, 17 May, 2015.

SPECIAL NOTES: Any exhibit may be excluded from exhibition at the sole discretion of the Supervising Steward. Every care will be taken of exhibits, but no responsibility for loss or damage can be accepted.

GRAND PARADE: Will commence at 1.30 p.m. on Sunday, 17 May, 2015.

Entry Fee: $10.00 for one class; $5.00 for each additional class.

Entry Forms available from the Secretary’s Office Prize Money: 1st $10.00; 2nd $5.00  Where there are less than three competitors in an event, the Steward has the right to determine the payment of prize money.

HORSE EVENTS – SECTION 1 Chief Steward: Mr David Spry. Phone: 4127 1665 Entry Fee: $3.00 per event unless otherwise stated Entries: All entries will be taken under the “Ticket System”. Tickets will be available at the Secretary’s Office during the Show. While this is not a pre-nomination show, you can pre purchase your tickets using the entry forms at the back of this Schedule. Tickets must be filled in and handed to the steward before judging commences. Completed Horse Health Declaration Form and Waiver, Release and Acknowledgement Form must be handed to the Chief Steward, before judging commences. A card system will be in place in lieu of money in the Ring. Prize Money will be paid out from the Secretary’s Office. All Competitors must pay at the gate.

Postcode and Local Rider: Refers to horse and rider who reside at Postcode 4621.

Special Regulations:

1. Stallions or Colts are not allowed to compete in any hack class.

2. Any Stallions or Colts under saddle must be suitably controlled or may be removed at Judge’s discretion.

3. Stallions and Colts must be ridden by rider 18yrs and over.

4. All Stallions to be suitably restrained and if stabling not available they need to wear a collar and be securely tied.

5. Stalls may be reserved but are limited. Horses within a radius of 8km of Biggenden may use stalls after travelling horses have been accommodated.

6. No application accepted unless accompanied by the fee.

7. Horses must be paraded on the days and at times advertised or disqualification may be incurred.

8. An Official of the Society will measure all horses on the grounds prior to judging if deemed necessary.

9. No horses will enter the arena with ribbons on, except in the Grand Parade, and only then with ribbons won at the current show.

10. All exhibits must be free from hereditary un-soundness and contagious diseases.

11. No entry accepted unless name of horse is on the ticket.

12. All horses must be the bona-fide property of the exhibitor at time of entry.

13. All exhibitors must be financial members of their respective breed Society and the Stewards reserve the right to inspect registration papers.

14. Competitors are asked to keep their horses in the designated areas at all times.

15. No horses are to be ridden within a radius of 30m of the show hall and canteen and DEFINITELY no horses to be ridden in front of the Show Hall.

16. Entrants in the WPCS (Welsh Pony) Classes are to be judged under the rules and regulations of the WPCS of Australia, i.e. must be registered, pure bred, unplaited and unclipped. Registration papers are to be presented upon request.

17. Where there are less than four competitors in an event, first to third place ribbons will be awarded.

However the Chief Steward has the right to determine the payment of prize money.

18. Competitors under the age of 18 must wear a helmet.
